Our Story

The idea of Pawmaste came from a very dear and special person in the Founder’s life.

This lover of animals would put his “paws up” when he liked something. He was the smartest person she had ever met, so this humble gesture was especially endearing! During virtual meetings, she started introducing the “paws up” gesture, and found it was contagious - people loved it, it made them laugh, and they put their “paws up”. This simple gesture made her think “What to do with it that would be useful in the world?”. Being an animal lover herself, she knew that animals not only bring joy and support to so many people everyday (like her cat and two dogs), but they are also intelligent. She found the answer to her question and created the Pawmaste Foundation in August of 2021. It was established to raise awareness and funds for other animal foundations that are revolutionizing the way we see, live, and work with animals.
